Goodyear Height’s residents overwhelmingly wanted Reservoir Park, the neighborhood recreation center and pool, to be a more colorful, comfortable and family friendly place.
Our team power-washed more than 20,000 sq. ft. of concrete walls, removed extensive graffiti, and prepared Reservoir Park for a major collaborative community day of painting. But with winter stubbornly sticking around, we were forced to improvise with an indoor day of collaborative mural painting.
Working in collaboration with local artists from Dimaura Ink, @PLAY created more than 16 murals celebrating Goodyear Heights’ history, historic icons, water infrastructure, and spirit of family-friendly fun.
Despite cold and rainy weather, our two-day event engaged more than 200 Goodyear Heights residents, all of whom now lay claim to the 12 murals that adorn Reservoir Park.
@PLAY’s Paintscape Party set the tone for the transformation that has taken over Goodyear Heights, and made Reservoir Park a crown jewel for neighborhood residents and many more.
